Gayle is retired, well sort of.  She still goes into the office a few hours a week but doesn't have to deal with clients & phones. She is taking classes thru the University of Delaware for retired seniors ( Yikes!) It's a perfect situation, no tests, no papers and you don't even have to show up. December 2008 Gayle says nothing much new in their lives other than there is no talk about retiring from her husband.  He still enjoys his work so doesn't want to stop!  Gayle take classes through the U of Delaware that are geared to seniors.  Very good, informative and thought-provoking.  Plus no papers, grades or attendance!  Can't beat that.  They plan on a trip to Peru in April led by their daughter.  Some Wilmington friends are going with them so they are really excited about traveling to a part of the world they haven't been to plus seeing Machu Pichu will be a thrill.  Gayle said that If anyone is traveling to their area, they are right off I 95 and the Franta Bed and Breakfast is always open!

Geofrey is still slaving away in the investment business....profession.  As a Hiram College Trustee trying with limited success to stem the runaway growth rate of college costs.  Helen is still very active with their church at the national level.  They are putting the finishing touches on an addition so her parents may move in. Daughter Julie is back in Greece from a sojourn in Jerusalem. Clint and Kate are in Austin TX where his book publishing company is located and Kate's job as an attorney is headquartered.  They both take good care of their lab they fondly call "our granddogger." 4/09 Geof and Helen are pleased to announce that they were grandparents for the second time in December 08.  Big sister, Susie, now almost 2 years old, is holding Abby in the photo. Son Clint and his wife Kate continue to prosper with the Greenleaf Book Group in Austin, TX, while Mom and Dad continue to cope with the abysmal stock market, but friendly gold market, as they share time in both Greater Cleveland (Novelty in western Geauga County) and Boca Grande, FL where Geof also has an office with his tarpon on the wall that Helen won’t let him display at their condo.

Shelly created a garden enclosure and is experimenting with hot sauce to defeat chomping four-leggers. Intending to master French cooking, Julia Child books and Sur La Table classes keep her busy.  Shelly now sells Premier Designs Jewelry at home shows to enhance her travel money.  At the same time, she started an online writing class which cannot be finished too soon. Oddly, it turned out to focus on Fairy Tales, Tall Tales and analyzing motifs. For a prolific non-writer, the reason to start was a hope of ending the creativity drought. Gnomes might not be the answer!  All families are well, 14 year old dog is still peppy at times while maintaining her Queen status. Dreaming of next trip to Paris....
