Proud parents of a new six month old cat they named Inky,  He loves to chew up newspapers and get under foot. Inky is now part of the family. Bruce (EB) is still entertaining the Cleveland folks in a band fondly called the GeezeCats. They play oldies ...hits from the late 50's and early 60's. Check out the website www.geezecats.com to see the bands current schedule and cool video. (Savannah Bar & Grille on West Side)

More band news......The band is doing great. In September a bass player joined who is a marvelous singer. He's a natural high tenor and can do all the Beach Boys and Four Seasons hits. He recently learned "Cara Mia Mine" (Jay and the Americans) and he really nails it! Other fun new songs the band has added are "Barbara Ann", "Happy Together", "Help Me Rhonda", and "Walk Like a Man." Over the years the band has played at some classic car shows. Bruce has a friend who graduated from Berea in 1959. He's a master mechanic and owns his own business refurbishing Rolls Royce's. He loves the music and the cars from that era. His theory is they go together so well because back then your parents wouldn't let you listen to that rock 'n' roll at home, so you had to get in your car and turn on the radio. Since he didn't have much money for repairs, he learned how to fix cars to keep him and his buddies rolling.

Retired and feel'n fine. In 2006 Judy and Ken traveled all over England, Ireland and Scotland. Ireland and Scotland were the bes! In 2007 they toured Spain and Portugal--Portugal wins and this year 2008 they toured Italy. Ken votes for Northern Italy as the best. Everything is good and they are looking forward to seeing the USA next year. Are we ready for another party yet??

This year Sue and Max are hoping to sell at last many of their home-grown Christmas trees.  Besides Sue’s extremely part-time job servicing medical insurance, she’s the early morning person for their four month old yellow lab, Ulee.  What were they thinking getting a puppy?  No trips to Ohio or Texas for awhile until he’s road-ready. Between the puppy and the grandkids (4, 2, and 1), Sue is keeping active and loving it!

Judy says she hasn't worked since the kids were born so guess she took a very early retirement. Jim is hoping to retire in the not too distant future. He travels a lot with his job and Judy has been very fortunate to accompany him to some really great places. This year they will visit Germany, Norway and Ireland. Other trips have been to Asia and they even spent some of their money to go to Australia for their twenty-fifth anniversary. Jim & Judy are still waiting for grandchildren. Their son Rob was married last April so they at least have their foot in the door. Their other son is single.  Both boys live less that fifteen minutes from them so they enjoy being able to visit. Judy's hobbies are sewing, quilting and using the computer.  Strangely enough the computer helps with both other pursuits and Judy loves mastering a new computer program and says "good idea for these aging brain cells!"

Don & Sally closed on their new house in Orlando FL in 2004 and just love living there, hurricanes and all. It's located in Ridgewood Lakes CC a golf community that's just beautiful. They still have their house in Columbus so they are the proverbial “Florida Snow Birds ". They spend most of the time swimming in their pool or riding around in their golf cart visiting neighbors. They have yearly passes to all the parks in Orlando which is non-stop fun! Don is also very active with Therapy Dogs http://www.tdi-dog.org/  and http://www.therapydogs.com/  both in OH and FL. Don takes his dog Cory to visit patients in hospitals in OH and FL. Don is director of a large Therapy Dogs chapter  www.centralohiogoodshepherds.com. Cory seems to be making quite a name for himself.  He has been on TV, newspapers and worked the Ohio State Fair. Don says "retirement is great but I am so busy now that I don't know how I ever had time to work". 10/08 Come see Don in his Universal Studios cast member outfit. He works the "Spiderman" attraction couple days a week. .Fun place to work!

The boys are good and living the great life in Center City Philadelphia. John is tired of trying to find “that job” and is doing the best he can with the one he has. David is in the recording studio with the band making a new CD. The band had a backer come forward and agree to pay for recording, mixing and releasing the next CD.. and they were glad to accept. David is working hard and is still with girlfriend Chris. Michael got engaged this spring and he and Leah are planning a wedding Aug 31, 2008,  first son to get married!  Jay didn’t play much golf this year as old injuries flared up and restricted his golf swing. Sue is still having problems with a back injury and is also dealing with a frozen shoulder. Could we possibly be getting old? Kitties are even getting older, they are ten years old now. Tigger and Pooh are with Jay & Sue and Piglet is still on vacation at Michael’s. This arrangement seems to work out well for everyone. Jay returned to his alma mater, Muskingum College, this past summer to sing with his old college group for Reunion Weekend. The “Animals Eight” had eight return so they had fun performing the old Kingston Trio type songs on Friday and Saturday night. This will the Grubbs sixth Christmas in the new house….it is now nicely broken in. The projects are complete and now they can start all over again.

Barb saw Gayle Kranz and husband George when they were in California on a two month cross country car camping trip. They planned their route to stop to see as many old friends and family as possible.  In Gayle's own words, she wanted to see her old friends "in vivo".  She came to visit Barb at their home in the Sierra foothills.  They had a great two hour chat, and they went for a ride in Barb's 68 Pontiac.... then Gayle & George were off again to visit family in nearby Fresno. Barb will be having a hip replacement at the end of August and Don got a very fancy pacemaker last week. Ain't we got fun - but they are still enjoying life, and getting through all the procedures, so that they will be firing on all cylinders in a few months. They have taken four trips in the RV since April, and plan more this fall, as well as several weeks in timeshares along the California coast. They are enjoying their mountain community this summer, and nearby Bass Lake, pining for a pontoon boat. California may have fires and earthquakes, but it sure is a great state for touring.  To those who may wonder, their home near Yosemite was never threatened by the fires, but they did have smokey air for a few days.
