parents of a new six month old cat they named Inky, He loves
to chew up newspapers and get under foot. Inky is now part of the
family. Bruce (EB) is still entertaining the Cleveland folks in a band fondly called
the GeezeCats. They play oldies ...hits from the late 50's and
early 60's. Check out the website www.geezecats.com to see
the bands current schedule and cool video. (Savannah Bar & Grille

More band news......The
band is doing great. In September a bass player joined who is a
marvelous singer. He's a natural high tenor and can do all the
Beach Boys and Four Seasons hits. He recently learned "Cara
Mia Mine" (Jay and the Americans) and he really nails it!
Other fun new songs the band has added are "Barbara
Ann", "Happy Together", "Help Me Rhonda",
and "Walk Like a Man." Over the years the band has
played at some classic car shows. Bruce has a friend who graduated
from Berea in 1959. He's a master mechanic and owns his own
business refurbishing Rolls Royce's. He loves the music and the
cars from that era. His theory is they go together so well because
back then your parents wouldn't let you listen to that rock 'n'
roll at home, so you had to get in your car and turn on the radio.
Since he didn't have much money for repairs, he learned how to fix
cars to keep him and his buddies rolling.

Barb saw Gayle Kranz
and husband George when they were in California on a two month
cross country car camping trip. They planned their route to stop
to see as many old friends and family as possible. In
Gayle's own words, she wanted to see her old friends "in
vivo". She came to visit Barb at their home in the
Sierra foothills. They had a great two hour chat, and they
went for a ride in Barb's 68 Pontiac.... then Gayle &
George were off again to visit family in nearby Fresno. Barb will be having
a hip replacement at the end of August and Don got a very fancy
pacemaker last week. Ain't we got fun - but they are still
enjoying life, and getting through all the procedures, so that
they will be firing on all cylinders in a few months. They have
taken four trips in the RV since April, and plan more this fall,
as well as several weeks in timeshares along the California
coast. They are enjoying their mountain community this summer,
and nearby Bass Lake, pining for a pontoon boat. California
may have fires and earthquakes, but it sure is a great state for
touring. To those who may wonder, their home near Yosemite
was never threatened by the fires, but they did have smokey air
for a few days.
