Larry has been retired almost two years now which he calls "workment" - a new word combining work with retirement.  The first year he gutted and renovated a rental home and garage all by himself.  Larry had some surgery about a month ago and is surprised at how well it went and how great he feels. They recently   decided they would downscale so are moving into a larger home with more than twice the yard. What they are downscaling is three flights of steps and a large mortgage and gaining some piece and quiet. With more room he offers a stay to anyone who might be traveling to Indianapolis. Larry feels as close to fellow classmates as his own family. Even if the association might have been limited to simply passing in the hall, sitting in the same classroom or being together at some activity or social event.  Everyone is welcome!

Sue started out teaching Jr. High English then launched and ran a natural foods co-op and became a "Color Analyst." One of her interests is natural health and alternative medicine and for the past 25 years she has been marketing various health and toxic-free organic skincare products. Her childhood piano lessons paid off as she plays keyboards leading praise & worship in various venues and has written hundreds of Christian songs. In 2004 after 35 years on the west coast (Seattle and Northern California) Sue moved back to Cleveland to be near her mother who recently passed away. Now living in Avonbury Lakes (the 55+ community next to Avon Commons) she recently joined the worship team of a new Sunday-night-only church called Eagle Rock. It meets at the Westlake Recreation Center and caters to people of all denominations who want "more" than just a Sunday morning service. Sue had vowed never to return to Cleveland and came back "kicking & screaming" but is now glad that she returned.

Ed has made another trip to Cambodia and spent about three weeks in a  medium size city that he had not seen before. Walked around and visited one of his Australian friends. Not everything was ideal but enjoyed the food and drink. Every morning went to a small cafe run by a friendly young guy from Seattle. Had two cups of espresso from beans imported from Vietnam and Laos (better and fresher than Starbucks at 75 cents a cup). One regular customer was a French Canadian a few years older. He sat at an outside table  talking drinking his tea and smoking joints. The rainy season began a month early because of global warming. Ed spends his afternoons reading. Picked up another novel by Graham Greene at a used bookstore. In the evenings he lingers in the French restaurants sipping chilled Merlot and having artery clogging meals served on oversized plates. Maybe a pizza baked in an old wood burning stove. The smell!  Or slices of tubular pasta drenched with butter and imported Roquefort cheese. The French taste will never change. Reliably delicious but who thinks about healthy? Just don't forget your daily pill.
