Bill returned to the USA from Singapore to San Francisco at the end of 2003 and joined Chevron as their VP of Global Refining,  He retired in June 06 and plans to relax a bit and may do a bit of consulting. Their two grandchildren, Max (4) & Sophia (2) children of eldest son Chris (37) and his wife Hue are in Hong Kong. They have been in Hong Kong for the last seven years and in Singapore three years before that. He is an investment banker. Bill plans to spend 3-4 months a year in Hong Kong just being a grandparent as they grow up so fast!!!! Younger son Aaron (32) is a welding Engineer with Kawasaki Robitics Detroit not yet married. Bill & Bev are thoroughly enjoying San Francisco and will be there for a few years at least. They plan on more traveling as they haven't seen much of California, the west and more overseas traveling. They will get back to the Midwest to see Aaron, Bev's family and Chicago friends (32 years there). Depending on where Aaron lands, and potential grandchildren, they could wind up back in the Midwest down the road.

Carol is keeping busy teaching for the Lakewood City Schools and answering the phones at Realty One in Rocky River. Gardening is one of her hobbies - especially when the flowers bloom and the crops come in. Living in the house she grew up in always provides challenges and projects, but it's fun and sometimes creative.

Mary & John are about to begin their 24th year in Swan Lake.  They now have 4 grandkids- 2 boys, Finn(5) and Charlie (2.5) that are in Burlington VT and 2 girls, Emmy (2) and Milla (2months) in Portland OR. They give new meaning to planes, trains and autos in arranging trips to both sides of the country.  Trying to keep the old body active with snowmobiling, tennis and boating. Golf is still in the learning process. Mary is also trying to keep the mind active with french classes.  Tested it in France last October....have soooo much to learn.  Is there enough time?  Speaking of time, Mary has noticed that she and John are getting older and thus doing more traveling while the body and minds still function.  They note that they do get to and from their destinations so they feel that they are doing A-Okay.

Since retiring in the fall from teaching (full-time college English for 35 years--she blames Mrs. Kelllam for all those thousands of papers she has graded!) Leslie seems to be busier than ever.  Dennis & Leslie spent a month in Devon & Cornwall & are going to China in a few weeks; they both suffer from wanderlust. When at home, they share, and repair, a 97 year old house with their basset hound Charlie.  He doesn't help much with the repairs, but he's happy to share in everything, especially their dinner. Recently classmate Judy Emling Clark was in Houston visiting her sister-in-law, who lives only a few blocks away, so Leslie & Judy had a wonderful reunion.

Gary sold his business in 1997 and retired.  Sandy has continued with her life long purpose to work with their four kids (three boys 42,38,33 and one girl 29) and four grandkids (ranging from 13 to 1 year)  Their daughter has three of their grandkids! Gary & Sandy will be celebrating 43 years together this coming June. Home is in Clermont Florida just west of Orlando where they plan to enjoy their retirement. They got very lucky finding their home on six acres in the country area of Lake County.  Small home by northern standards (2000 sq.ft.) but the acreage gives them a lot of space. Gary built an additional garage/workshop that is heated and A/C ~ 1750 sq.ft. of pure pleasure as that is where the old cars are. Currently they have only two, a 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible, and a 1957 Chevrolet Belair convertible.  Both are show cars and they enjoy taking them for a spin as well as local cruise-ins judged shows. They try to go up north at least two times each year and look forward to the memories that are relived each time.

Emily and her husband David are looking forward to retirement this July. After years as a computer programmer and stay-at-home mom, Emily has worked the last 19 years at an elementary school teaching computers and math.  Her older son Mike (30) is a programmer and he and his wife will be making her a grandmother this summer. Emily is delighted and eager. Luckily they live about 30 minutes away.  Dan (27) and his wife are almost done with their PhDs in psychology and will be heading off to internships next fall.  Everyone went on an Alaskan cruise last summer and hope to travel more once things calm down.

Dale says that she still wakes up every day without aches, pains, or health issues and no adult kids live at home with them!  She is still working for the Federal Reserve Bank, now managing Internal Communications. She is also the project manager for  the bank's big corporate culture change effort called Drive 4th. It's really a huge job and by Friday every week she says that she is  certain that she might do this for only two more years. Ron & Dale both read "Where to Retire" avidly to check out places to visit and retire. The Carolinas still are their first choice. Dale is a heavy-duty gardener and needs to be outside in the dirt if the weather is warm. Ron's knees required them to give up skiing the past couple of years. They are still enjoying Friendship their boat. This past fall they moved it closer to Cleveland for storage and farther away from the  Lake Erie Islands.  Age has definitely taken a toll in one way -- they have outgrown Put-in-Bay.
